ABOUT THE COMPANY

The Salty Heifer didnt start in a lab with a white coat and a clipboard. It started in Southern Idaho, inside a family-owned USDA beef processing plant, with two business owners, a lot of curiosity, and one persistent husband.

Jen and Jeremy Anderson spent years working hands-on in the beef industry, sourcing and processing high-quality cattle every single day. Somewhere along the way, Jeremy started nudging Jen to look a little closer at something most people overlook: beef leaf fat. Specifically, what happens when you render it properlyand what it can become beyond the butcher shop.

Turns out, beef tallow has properties remarkably similar to our own skin. Like really similar. And once you realize that, you cant un-realize it.

That curiosity quickly turned into concern. They began reading ingredient labels on everyday beauty and skincare products and asking the uncomfortable questions:

Why is this in here?
Do I actually know what this does?
And why does my moisturizer need a chemistry degree to understand?

So Jen did what she does bestshe learned. She experimented. She failed a bunch of times. And she kept going.

She sourced clean, high-quality essential oils from Plant Therapy, a manufacturer also located in Southern Idaho, and spent countless hours researching which oils werent just appealing to smell, but genuinely beneficial to the skin. The goal wasnt to mask tallowit was to complement it.

After plenty of trial, error, tweaking, and a few absolutely not batches, she landed on six signature scents: three for women, three for meneach one intentional, balanced, and something the whole family could stand behind.

And speaking of family they were in this from day one.

The kids helped test, smell, critique (brutally), name, and hype every version along the way. They watched the process unfold, learned why ingredients matter, and took pride in seeing something made with care, locally, and by their own parents. Every jar represents not just a productbut a family effort.

Why The Salty Heifer?

Well Jens a little salty. In the best way. Honest. Curious. Not interested in fluff, fillers, or following trends just because everyone else is. She wanted skincare that made sensesomething you could feel good about putting on your body, knowing your skin is your largest organ and deserves better than shortcuts.

The Salty Heifer is about transparency, small-batch care, family values, and choosing ingredients with purpose. Its about taking something time-tested, respecting it, and turning it into something simple, effective, and damn good.

Were proud of every scent.
Were proud of where its made.
And were proud of whats not in it just as much as what is.

Welcome to The Salty Heifer. 🖤
